Four Carve Stories Recognized for the Million Writers Award 2014

A big congratulations to the four Carve contributors whose stories have each been recognized as a “Notable Story” of 2013 by the Million Writers Award. The MWA, presented by storySouth, recognizes and honors fiction published online and accepts hundreds of nominations each year. The Million Writers Award has been recognizing online fiction since 2004.

Carve’s notable contributors and stories for the 2014 award are:

The list of notable stories will be narrowed by judges to a top ten that will be voted on by the public. The three overall winners will be awarded monetary prizes.

Each year since 2007, Carve has had at least one story recognized as a “Notable Story,” and we’re so pleased our contributors have continued the tradition this year. Last year, four Carve stories were nominated, and two went on to place in the final round. First place was awarded to Rachel Steiger-Meister for “Chlorine Mermaid,” and third place went to Adrienne Celt for “The Eternal Youth of Everyone Else.”

We’ll keep you updated on the award should any of the stories progress to the top ten round. In the meantime, support online magazines by reading the notable stories of 2013.
